The ImMediaTe Consortium Presents MediaKIS Ltd.
The ImMediaTe Consortium participated in the conference on ICT-enabled Sustainability in Smart Cities held in Malta on March 3, 2010.
The event was organised by the Malta National Contact Point to provide information on specific funding opportunities available through the 2010 Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Policy Support Programme, one of the main financial instruments of i2010 Policy.
The ImMediaTe Consortium, represented by the Project’s Technical Manager Mr. Carlo Donzella (Filas) and Mr. Jesmond Xuereb (FTZ), held a presentation entitled Inventing New Media Ventures: a New Maltese Venture with European Partnership and Global Ambition.
During the presentation, the ImMediaTe Consortium announced the creation of MediaKis Ltd., an innovative business services organisation that will build on the findings and experience of the ImMediaTe Project.
During the afternoon, all the projects present at the event were presented in two parallel sessions.
Project Director Michela Michilli explained that Project ImMediaTe has populated a knowledge base of over 250 innovative companies operating in the digital media sector and is analysing the data contained in 25 detailed case studies to draw a series of preliminary conclusions and organise a series of events.
During the course of 2010, Project ImMediaTe will organise a series of thematic events (one in each of the participating clusters) to mobilize local SMEs and stakeholders and attract a select international audience.
Each event will include an “introductory” coaching module to allow local enterprises to reflect on their effective needs and an “advanced” module customized to leverage the strengths of each individual cluster, thereby appealing to a much wider audience.
SMEs will be able to benefit from the ImMediaTe toolbox, a “mix and match” range of instruments that provide custom-tailored solutions for digital media companies and their access to the market.
MediaKis Ltd. will become a permanent services organisation and provide a variety of on-line and on-field tools to assist and orient European ventures in the digital media sector and will be based in Malta.
Malta’s size and geographical location, its highly developed ICT infrastructure and commitment to sustainable growth, makes it a perfect test bed for new ICT solutions and infrastructure paradigms, and thus a “catalyst” for their expansion and development into the Euro-Mediterranean region.
