China Galilleo Industries and Associazione ASIA Sign a Framework Cooperation Agreement
Associazione Asia, a no-profit association for the development of business incubators, and China Galileo Industries (CGI) signed a framework cooperation agreement on satellite navigation systems on October 14, 2009 in Beijing, China.
The framework agreement covers a vast range of issues including the development of a research and business platform for satellite applications operating global navigation satellite systems (GNSS) and “next generation networking” (NGN) services with the participation of select partners and other interested parties. The agreement calls for the organization of the first Italian-Chinese Workshop on “GNSS and NGN satellite applications” to be held in early 2010, a joint research lab in China, a series of business meetings and participation in international calls such as FP7.
The cooperation agreement between Associazione Asia and CGI comes as a welcome, natural development between two of the most active participants in Project Sidereus.
Project Sidereus, which was recently organized and coordinated by Filas, involved 160 Asian and 140 European Companies operating in the ICT and aerospace sectors in matchmaking meetings and business seminars. The aim of Sidereus was to catalyse long-term business and technological cooperation agreements, particularly on downmarket aerospace and ICT-related products and services.
Moreover, Filas administers the Lazio Region Aerospace Technology District (DTA), one of the largest aerospace districts in the world with an annual turnover of 5 billion euro, thirty thousand employees and a total of 250 companies, 15 technology centres and 5 universities.
Associazione Asia is a no-profit association for the development of business incubators that focuses on innovative technology to promote and manage international marketing and technology transferral projects, especially to China.
China Galileo Industries is specialized in researching and developing satellite navigation systems and manufacturing, marketing and operating navigation products and services. CGI is the prime Chinese contractor in the Galileo Programmes and aims to become the Galileo Concessionaire in China.
