Filas Participates in the European Meeting for SMEs operating in the Aerospace Sector
Filas will participate in the "Space SMEs in Europe: International and National Policies to support Innovation and Competitiveness in Space related SMEs". The meeting dedicated to Aerospace industry SMEs will be held on May 11-12 in Rome (Italy) at the Hotel Quirinale.
The event is sponsored by Filas, SAT Expo Europe, Eutelsat, Thales Alenia Space, EADS Astrium, Telespazio and Deloitte.
The initiative is part of the programme for the first “European Week for SMEs” organised by the European Commission and which will take place on May 6-14, 2009. The objective of the programme is to provide a greater focus on SMEs operating in the aerospace sector.
The three main goals are to collect the requests of Italian aerospace SMEs, analyse the issues concerning relations between SMEs and large enterprises and provide more information on European financing opportunities.
In particular, Filas President Ms. Flaminia Saccà will participate in the session coordinated by Deloitte and dedicated to “Finance and SMEs” that will be held on May 11 (4:30-6:00 pm). The session will present case histories and public and private funding opportunities for this fundamental sector for the economy of the Lazio Region.
The two-day event will provide a complete overview of the state of European aerospace. Dedicated policies addressing SMEs will be compared; cooperation plans implemented by large enterprises with SMEs will be illustrated and the opportunities that exist for SMEs throughout Europe in terms of new technologies and applications will be reviewed. The event will be closed by ASI Commissioner, Enrico Saggese.
During the event, bilateral one-on-one meetings may be organised at the desk with all the major actors in this sector.
