SMEs and Research Programmes Addressing Security Level
Security research under FP7 has been earmarked for € 1.4 billion in EU funds (2007-2013) favouring cross-border research bringing together partners from academia, research institutions, industry and end-users with the purpose of creating a certain synergy and critical mass.
The importance of security is also related to its potential for cross- fertilization. European efforts seek to improve the security of citizens, protect infrastructures and utilities, develop intelligent surveillance and border security systems, enhance European crisis-management capabilities and improve the integration and interoperability of systems.
Thus, FP7 security themes integrate other important issues such as ICT.
The Final Dissemination Event for Project Secure-Force will be held in Rome on January 30th, 2009 at the Leonardo da Vinci Hotel (Via dei Gracchi, 324).
SECURE-FORCE, a project funded by the European Commission and supported by Enterprise Europe Network (EEN) will organize a half day workshop to illustrate the lessons learnt in the involvement of European Companies in FP6 and FP7 programmes through the direct experience of successful proposals.
The workshop will also present the new FP7 ICT call with deadline on April 1st 2009.
The event is addressed to SMEs, large companies, universities and research centres that are involved in FP7 research projects or willing to participate as well as Regional Development Agencies that provide support for FP7 project proposals.
